⬛️ Rediscovering the Living Word

From childhood, I heard many Bible stories and lessons in Sunday school. I knew the main characters, remembered the stories, and understood many of the lessons taught through sermons.

Because the stories were familiar, I thought I knew the Bible.
.

But I later realized that knowing stories about God’s Word is not always the same as meeting the living God through His Word.

.

When I was in high school, God gave me a teacher who guided me into Scripture. My teacher taught me how to slow down, observe the passage, ask questions, and listen carefully to what God was saying.

The Bible began to come alive.
.

It was no longer only a collection of familiar stories and good lessons. Through the Word, I began to encounter the living God. Scripture corrected me, renewed me, gave me direction, and led me closer to Jesus.
.

Through the mentors and spiritual teachers God placed in my life, I discovered a fountain of life in His Word.
.

This is why PBS and GBS matter.

In PBS, we learn to open the Bible and listen to God’s Word personally.

In GBS, we share what we have discovered, listen to the perspectives of others, apply the Word to our lives, and pray for one another.

We do not want to be people who only know Bible stories. We want to become a spiritual family that knows God through His Word and grows together as disciples of Jesus.
